Scientific Illustrations

A picture is worth a thousand words. That is especially true when we are talking about science. Scientific illustrations are highly essential to communicate research and complex concepts.

Popular Science Abstract

Scientific illustrations are amazing when you are giving lectures for the field. But we often find ourselves giving presentations to layman audiences without figures that are easy to understand. Cartoons can help you with this! A simple cartoon can help you tell a story: first event ‘A’ happens, then ‘B’, then ‘C’. Comics are incredibly popular for a reason, they are so easy to understand.

I mostly make flat, vector-style, illustrations that are easy to scale for powerpoints, posters and websites. Send me an email if you are interested in a comic that explains your science!

Journal cover

This cover accompanies an article describing the peptidoglycan structure of Streptomyces coelicolor. The illustration imagines Streptomyces colonies as a barbed-wire fence, showing a ‘Streptomyces wall’. https://jb.asm.org/content/200/20/e00290-18.short
