Structural basis of human transcription-DNA repair coupling

Kokic et al found that a single conformational change in a lysine ‘switch’ will eventually cascade into many downstream effects that will lead to ubiquitination of CSB and the release of Transcription-coupled DNA factors, which allow transcription to continue over repaired DNA.

The art interprets the pushing of this button as the ‘hands of God’ regulating the repair of DNA.
